Case of Perimenopausal Symptoms and Homeopathic Treatment

Case Study of a 49-Year-Old Woman

First Meeting

Patient reports:

I am in the premenopausal phase.

My stomach is permanently bloated as if I am wearing pants two sizes too small.

I get my period twice a month for 7 days.

Two years ago, I had a uterine cleaning procedure.

My cycle was always irregular, with a 5-day variation.

Some days, my mood is good.

I feel tired, I do half the tasks and get exhausted.

The heat bothers me; I have hot flashes.

My sleep is terrible, I have bad dreams, and I wake up tired.

I am not generally afraid; I try to solve whatever happens, but I get stressed.

I am an explosive person; I get angry quickly.

The abdominal discomfort is troubling me, like I am losing myself.

Second Meeting

My breasts are more swollen.

Psychologically, I am much more relaxed.

I sleep peacefully.

The hot flashes are milder.

I do not stress; I do not get angry easily. Now I give myself time and do not get angry as easily.

Before, I could create tension more easily.

During the day, I do not have much energy; it gets better towards the evening.

Third Meeting

I had a difficult period due to obligations.

I had massive bloating. I did not want anything to touch me.

To a lesser extent than before.

I sleep peacefully and well.

I do not have anxiety during the day.

I had my period twice this month, just like the previous month.

This time I had this: I felt cold, then hot, but it did not last. Like being in a sauna, waves of heat and cold.

I had all these symptoms together again 3-4 months ago.

My mood is very good. I see many positives, only positives.

Fourth Meeting

I have hot flashes every day. Like waves, and they are more intense at night.

I have deep sleep, if I wake up, I can fall back asleep, which used to be very difficult.

My period starts lightly, just a few drops at the beginning and bloating.

I feel a heaviness down low, little pains.

I feel like I have fire inside me, like heat is rising, but I do not sweat.

I am in a good mood. I am more relaxed; I take things more easily.

This is a result of what you give me.

The bloating eased off, and it felt like a very relaxed breath. I have had these symptoms for the last 2 years.

First, I had bloating in my stomach and breasts, which was very intense.

It started 10 days before my period; once my period began, it eased a bit.

Now the bloating, my energy, and my sleep are much better.

Fifth Meeting

I have light bloating, not like before.

I feel a little heaviness but not as bothersome as before.

It has been 2 and a half months since my last period.

Now I have signs that it will start, but the breast bloating does not hurt as much as before.

It is not the same at all. Now I wear a bra, whereas before I couldn't even think about it.

I get hot most of the time, especially at night.

If hot flashes come, they come smoothly and are not as intense.

My mood is good.

There is nothing stressing me out. I see nothing negative.

I have always been a perfectionist; I will finish something in the best way.

My sex life has improved a lot compared to before we started the treatments.

Sixth Meeting

I am doing very well.

I used to have a lot of stress and anxiety.

I am much more conscious, more thoughtful, and more relaxed. I am calm mentally.

I enjoy myself.

Before my period, it is not like it was before.

Regarding my period, we are in the prelude; I had some drops, but it did not start.

I had many hot flashes this week. Like sudden flashes.

My emotions are in harmony, like a natural state.

This is very positive for me.

Therapeutic Commentary:

In a woman's life, the hormonal system is continuously exposed to changes. Hormone-dependent symptoms are common and their intensity is significantly influenced by psychological symptoms, just as hormonal symptoms greatly impact psychological well-being. A woman with a balanced psyche has a balanced hormonal system and can manage these inevitable changes more easily in all phases, including menopause. During the transitional perimenopausal period, symptoms vary, and it is observed that their intensity reflects the degree of hormonal changes and psychological state not only during this period but throughout a woman's life. The therapeutic goal through homeopathic treatment is always overall balance, with psychological symptoms being of primary importance. When there is profound balance, the hormonal system and the entire organism are in better condition and can handle changes more easily without psychological and physical strain. Deep and substantial support of the female organism through homeopathy can provide immediate and long-term relief by restoring balance and continuously preventing more severe conditions. When homeopathy is applied according to its principles and the treatment plan is followed, long-term results are achieved as the therapy involves a change in the perception of reality, leading to genuine balance. The above consists of excerpts from case histories/meetings. The improvement is continuous, and there has been therapeutic progress in both the psycho-mental sphere and the intensity of symptoms.
